No fixed counter, no waiting room - just a card in the truck, presented the moment the job is signed off.
A plumber, electrician, HVAC tech, or contractor does not have a counter or a host stand - the job site changes every time. The product that fits this business is the one built to move: the card, carried by whoever does the work.
Recommended format and placement
- Carried by the technician: a card kept in a clipboard, toolbox, or invoice folder, so it is on hand at every job regardless of location.
- Left behind, if the homeowner is not present: the same card, clipped to the printed invoice or left with the paperwork, since a home-services visit does not always end with the customer standing right there.
The adhesive tag and the freestanding stand are built for a fixed location and do not fit a job that moves to a new address every day, so they are not the right format here.
How many you need
A small stack per technician or per truck, replenished as they are handed out, rather than a fixed count tied to a single location.
When to present it
At job completion, when the work is signed off and the invoice is presented, whether that happens in person at the door or by leaving the card with the paperwork. This is the one moment on a home-services job where the customer has actually seen the finished work and can speak to it.
A policy-safe script for the door
Google's guidelines let a technician offer the business's review link or QR code to a homeowner, and prohibit offering a discount on the invoice for a review, and prohibit only handing the card to customers whose job went smoothly with no complications. A simple, compliant script at the door: "The job's all done and here's your invoice. If you have a minute, there's a card here you can tap or scan to leave us a review, totally up to you." No mention of a discount, no skipping the card because a job ran long or had a hiccup - every completed job gets the same offer.
